The Honda Cars India Limited is a fully paid subsidiary of the Japanese car maker the Honda Motors. Though the Honda brand has started their business in India in 1995 the HCIL has been formed in 2012 only. The HCIL has many popular cars in their Indian portfolio. As the demand for the fuel efficient MPVs are increasing in the market the HCIL has launched the MPV Mobilio in July 2014.

The Honda Mobilio is an international mini MPV introduced by the Honda brand originally in 2001. The second generation Mobilio has been launched in India in 2014. The 7-seater MPV is already a hit in the Indian market. The Mobilio comes in 4 petrol and 6 diesel variants priced Rupees 6.75 to 11.88 lakh in trims the E, the S, the V and the V (O) in petrol and diesel and the RS and the RS (O) in diesel, all with manual transmission. The petrol variants are priced Rupees 6.75 to 9.61 lakh and the diesel variants Rupees 8.19 to 11.74 lakh.

The Mobilio comes in colours of Majestic Blue, Crystal Black Pearl (for RS variants), Urban Titanium, Carnelian Red, Alabaster Silver, Brilliant Gold and Taffeta White. The car built on the Brio platform has a stylish body. The RS variants look sportier with projector type head lamps, a rear spoiler, bigger air dams, dual tone rear bumper, B&C pillars in glossy black colour and body coloured ORVMs and door handles. 

The cabin of the Mobilio is spacious and comfortable with standard features like a manual AC, fabric seats, central and child lock facilities, an engine immobiliser, power windows and internally adjustable ORVMs. Top variants have features like 2 air bags, ABS, EBD, electric body coloured ORVMs, rear parking sensors with camera, a 2 DIN music system with touch screen controls, GPS system and Bluetooth for telephony. 

The high fuel efficiencies are the plus points of the Mobilio. The Honda Mobilio mileage is 17.3 kmpl for the petrol and 24.2 kmpl for the diesel variants. The petrol variants of the Mobilio are powered by 1497 cc, 118 bhp and 145 NM torque engines and the diesel ones by 1498 cc, 99 bhp and 200 NM torque engines. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 12 sec and the top speeds are 140 to 150 kmph.

The dimensions of the Mobilio are 4386 mm length, 2652 mm wheel base and 189 mm ground clearance with a boot of 223 litres. 

Segmental best mileages, modern looks, spacious cabins and competitive prices are the plus points of the Honda Mobilio. The rivals are the MPVs like the Maruti Ertiga, the Chevrolet Enjoy and the Nissan Evalia.
